This was going to be soo simple, like...just one layer of color and that was it, but I got carried away. When I finished I wasn't sure if I wanted to put the conversation there but then it wouldn't make scense why Venus is sad .
And of who are they talking about ? OF WE, THE FANS, OF COURSEE!
Mona is trying to cheer up Venus after all the bashing that her character is victim of.
...-o- but Mona wouldn't know about not been liked! , she is soooo beloved by the fandom, amazing what this girl accomplished with just a cool dessing and one episode in the series.
...XD I'm been a little hypocrite drawing something like this, because I also used to hate Venus. I still don't like some things about her, and what the producers were trying to do including her in the series, but some fanwork of others artists here, in deviantart ,have changed my mind a little bit about her. Besides is not like is the girl's fault that the show where she was included sucked so much.
But we, the fans, can make things better for her, like some are already doing ^_^.
...and yeah, I really like how this came out, it has it's mistakes, but whatever. (...D: I forgot the yellow part in Mona's tail, I hope you can forgive me!)

Putting aside the very terrible show she was in & it's many flaws, I can tell you exactly what a lot of Venus' flaws art as I'm sure you probably know after all this time but I just like to share. A lot of it comes down to the writing.
1. The base concept of trying to rewrite show so turtles aren't bio-brothers just for a forced romance that clearly clashes with part of her origin is obviously their desperate attempt to have their cake & eat it too.
2. Her magic powers with no definition on how they work, just deus ex machina the defeat of Shredder bringing out his "good side" is also failed understanding of how Shredder works & makes Venus a very much Mary sue fan character.
3. Again clearly writers did no research in japanese lore since they said a "Shinobi" is different from a Ninja even though most kids know that Shinobi is another word Ninja. They made big deal out her having Chinese influences, even though China has nothing to do with ninjas. When they could easily have just said "she's a ninja that also knows Chinese Black magic." which would have been fine!
Make her a sister or make her a love interest, make her a konoichi that knows Chinese black magic that has understandable rules and limits. It wasn't that hard! That's the tragedy of Venus. She wasn't a bad character in concept, she sadly was just the victim of laziness & incompetence, a microcosm for the show itself. And the with Success of Jennika, I honestly think a lot of people should give her a 2nd chance. I mean take a look at Lisa herself here! She got one hell of an upgrade in the 2012 version of the show. And people obviously people loved 80s Lisa. Who knows maybe one day.
